Prismacolour

    

I so love my Rubbermoon stamps and these 4 cards were such fun to make.  All of the images were coloured with Prismacolour pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits.  I find that Prismacolour pencils really are the best pencils crayons for this technique.

Coloured Embossing Powders

I seldom use my coloured embossing powders.  Actually, heat embossing is something I rarely do.

For this card I stamped the image (stamp unknown) on a piece of matte, silver paper, added some blue embossing powder from my stash and heat embossed.  I layered the stamped image on to silver, mirror cardstock, and then on to some matte, blue metallic paper.  This was then mounted to another piece of silver, matte cardstock that I dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I then randomly sponged the piece with Versamark ink and sprinkled on some more of the blue embossing powder.  I’m tickled pink with the final result.  What do you think?

Inspired!!

Today I was inspired by Michelle Zindorf to play with a technique I hadn’t done in ages.  

Here are a couple of cards I made.  Inks used:  Adirondack Sunshine Yellow, Lettuce, Terra Cotta and Eggplant

I used both sponge daubers and household sponges

Alcohol Ink Backgrounds

I’m probably the last person in the stamping world to try this technique (Tim Holtz).   Canned air was just not something that I remembered to buy.  Lo and behold, I found a can in the basement.  Visit Tim’s blog to get the complete details, but in a nutshell, drops of alcohol inks are dropped on to glossy cardstock.  The canned air is then sprayed to move the inks around. 

This really was a lot of fun and I’ll definitely do it again.

I had a lot of fun making these pictures for my new grandson.  The backgrounds are done with watercolor sprays and I’ve stamped with black Memento ink and embossed with clear e/p.  Stamps are by Magenta.

I sure hope he likes them!

Hello!

I stamped this image awhile ago and I don’t know who makes the stamp.  Kind of has a Magenta look about it. Ummmmm?  Any idea who makes this stamp????

I used sponges to apply dye inks to the background and colored him in with pencil crayons and added a little odorless mineral spirits to blend.  Added some teeny brads and the “Hello” (Hero Arts) to finish it off.

Two of my blog followers have been asking me to get blogging again.  I don’t know where the time has gone!  I can’t believe it’s been 6 weeks since I posted.  I’ll try to do better!

I’m still on the pencil crayon and odourless mineral spirits “kick” .  Coloring is just so relaxing and it certainly helps now that we’ve got some sunshine and warmer temps.

Peel-Offs as a Mask

For this card I used the Magenta Peel-Offs as a mask.  The image is panted with US Artquest mica water color paints.  Once dry the Peel-Offs were removed.  Kind of a neat look I think and I can reuse the Peel-Off!  Recycling is good!!!!

For the Birds

Distress Inks sponged on smooth white cardstock.

Stamps from I Brake For Stamps and a small stamp from Rubber Stamp Tapestry to fill in the bottom, right corner.  The images are stamped with India Ink.

Pears

For this card, I started by making an ink pad using a folded up paper towel moistened with masking fluid.  I then “inked” up the pear stamp (Magenta), several times, and stamped across the bottom of a piece of glossy cardstock.  Once the masking fluid was dry, I added some alcohol inks to make the background.  The sentiment (Inkadinkadoo) was then stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with detailed gold embossing powder. Finally, I rubbed off the masking fluid and colored in the pears using alcohol inks mixed with a little blending solution.

I really like the look of this.  What do you think?

Watercolor background

I've been playing with watercolor backgrounds. They are just SO much fun! Here you can see the background sheet and a couple of cards I've made from it.

Materials used: Watercolor sprays, bleach, Twinkling H2Os, India Ink

White on Black

Stamping on black cardstock with white pigment ink. Colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Joy to You

The background for this card is done with Distress Inks. The image (Tim Holtz) is stamped with Brilliance Lightning Black ink and it really shimmers beautifully. Definitely a quick card to make and Tim has made cardmaking so easy! LOL.

Magenta Holly

This is another stamp I bought at our stamp club for 2 bucks. I so love it when people decide to get rid of their stamps!

I stamped the image on a cream colored piece of cardstock and sponged on various Distress Inks. After layering I added a tag (Spellbinders) and a brad. A really quick card!

Autumn

This is the card for the Persnickety group lottery. I stamped the leaves with Versamark and embossed with black e/p. Next I colored in the leaves with alcohol markers. I then colored over the leaves with a Versamark pen and clear embossed. The final step was to sponge ink to create the colored background. The vellum overlay is from a stack of vellum quotes.
